Near Koya, Erbil |
But the memorable places are often the Hidden Gems. It's the Magasin Sennelier Art Supply Shop in Paris that I mostly remember, people coming in, getting their canvas, the smell of paint, the fact that the shop has been an ingredient for amazing paintings. Its the Fasaht Sumaya Restuarant on Huda Shaarawi Street in Cairo that will give you the real taste like it was cooked by an Egyptian mother. It is that Alley full of cafes and bars that I found in Istanbul near Ido Ferry stop that gave me the chills.
I am trying to do something here, I am trying to give you the local perspective in Kurdistan. You can go to the citadel in Erbil, the museum in Slemani, and Waterfalls in Duhouk. Those are known places. I will aim to give you information about "What Would a Kurd do" here.

Hawraman Area Near Iran |
These are few places that you do not see in Kurdistan. I hope this blog will aid expats visiting this beautiful troubled region. Hawraman is an example. It is just beautiful to be there during spring, having freshly made Kebabs with Doogh Drink (yogurt mixed with water)

While Fridays you can join one of many groups in the city for a hike in the Kurdish wilderness to different possible Areas in the region.
I will attempt to blog each area differently with pictures, to-dos, and details. I hope this will be a humble guide for you.
